WP ADMIN

Im having issues with my WP login.. I have reseted my password numerous of times and still no luck.. I'v read a couple blogs and forums and they are saying there may be conflict within one of my plugins.. I really don't want to delete the site again.. but it's looking like I may need to clear my server again, reinstall each plugin to see which one is given the issue.. 

Any other takes on it?

WP Elements

PROBLEM
I was doing some modifications in the backend of wordpress.. came back to the "edit page" tool and my tool bar had disappeared and my html font was displaying all white... surely you could imagine my frustration ..

SOLUTION
Back up the content on your server.. delete the WP app off the server.. then reinstall a fresh WP to the server..  then transfer your plugins and theme folder over from the backed up site.. and voila :)

404 Page not found

I have a portfolio page that is a parent to photo and film page. The portfolio page is theme based which previews the posts almost like a gallery.. In adding a gallery for the photo page both pages that were subjective to the portfolio page unlinked. I went back into the archives of the auto save feature on wordpress, but still no luck.. any ideas??

Just a quick thought..

Using WordPress, how do you limit a user when it comes to uploading content? I imagine it goes deeper than FTP access, but how would you go about setting up a site like Humber's where there is numerous contributors?

Online Store

As I shopped around for final project ideas among friends with small businesses, the same question kept  reappearing. Am I able to produce work that will enable them to join the online venders? As I am new to WordPress, I'm not aware of the full capabilities of this means to create a site so I did some research. In the showroom I could not find any examples of online stores, but more so a gallery page and a contact sheet page for inquires about purchases.

Qestion - Is it possible create an online store using WordPress?

Word Press

Over the past week I've been looking into WordPress and I honestly feel this is the bridge that we have been missing. I really mean transitioning from school to work.. a tool - or i should say a relevant tool FINALLY! For my final website I look to create a site for friend looking to promote and sell his new clothing line, so believe i look to make the most of this semester. By the end I would like to have developed a site with a show room, a page events, and most importantly an online store. These are some of the sites i found interesting on the WordPress showcase...


What do you look to gain at the end of this semester?

CSS ZEN GARDEN



Usually at the beginning of the semester we discus what we look forward to learning.. well they say to know where you're going, you need to know where you came from. This is a design assignment that I really enjoyed from third year, first semester - CSS Zen Garden The Beauty in CSS Design. The point of the Zen Garden is to inspire and encourage participation in the design element of web design. The code remains the same, the only thing that has changed is the external .css file.


















Requirements

The css Zen Garden is about functional, practical CSS and not the latest bleeding-edge tricks viewable by 2% of the browsing public. The only real requirement we have is that your CSS validates.
Unfortunately, designing this way highlights the flaws in the various implementations of CSS. Different browsers display differently, even completely valid CSS at times, and this becomes maddening when a fix for one leads to breakage in another. View the Resources page for information on some of the fixes available. Full browser compliance is still sometimes a pipe dream, and we do not expect you to come up with pixel-perfect code across every platform. But do test in as many as you can. If your design doesn’t work in at least IE5+/Win and Mozilla (run by over 90% of the population), chances are we won’t accept it.
We ask that you submit original artwork. Please respect copyright laws. Please keep objectionable material to a minimum; tasteful nudity is acceptable, outright pornography will be rejected.
This is a learning exercise as well as a demonstration. You retain full copyright on your graphics (with limited exceptions, see submission guidelines), but we ask you release your CSSunder a Creative Commons license identical to the one on this site so that others may learn from your work.
